The No 4 Mk 2 bayonet fits all of the No 4 series Enfield rifles. These are socket type bayonets that slip over the milled lugs in a No 4 barrel. After they are inserted, you turn them a quarter turn and a spring loaded catch falls into place that secures the bayonet on the rifle.

Externally the difference is tiny. On the mark one a rivet and steel strap are visible in a small recess at the rear of the forearm, on the mark two this a slotted screw, not a rivet.
